The past few months have been a blur and, although I remember giving Tanya two eggs to set on, I completely forgot when I gave them to her.
As it turns out, it was apparently 28 days ago.
Look what I found when I went into the turkey coop this afternoon.
Just look at that precious little face.
I didn’t get any pictures of the new baby with her mama, but Bernie got a picture of the proud daddy.
Jake is finishing up his molt and I think he’s looking quite handsome.
Tanya is still setting on the second egg. I let her keep that one a couple of days after she started setting on the first egg, so we’ll see if she will continue to set on it until it hatches.
Remember Sarah’s little baby from earlier this year? We’re still unsure if we’ve got a jake or a jenny, so we call her Turklet for now.
And Turklet’s not much of a baby any longer.
Turklet’s to the left of Jake, and Sarah is to the right.
So right now we have five turkeys.
I think we’re gonna need a bigger turkey coop………

Ahahaha! I was just gonna say to Bernie…oh no Bernie…next thing you know youre gonna have just as many turkeys as you do chickens…best get busy on adding on to that turkey coop
But, how can you not love a turkey named Turklet.
Oh my goodness, your family is growing. Jake is looking wonderful.
Right, Marcee? Bernie named her Turklet. Almost as good as a rooster named Rusty Junk
Charlotte – doesn’t Jake look good? He’s still strutting his stuff too. I sure hope he’s the only Jake we end up with though……..
Oh how sweet of a surprise this is. I love Turklet and yes you best get to adding to the turkey coop/pen. Jake is an absolutely gorgeous boy. Sarah and Tanya are some lucky girls to have a hot looking boy like that. lol.. Maybe you will have another hatch out soon!
Awesome pics! The baby is adorable! Love the name Turklet, “she’s” as big as Sarah, and I’m with everyone else, Jake is so handsome!!! He sure knows how to strut his stuff!
I LOL when you said Rusty (Junk) for a roo! Joe named our buff orpington Rusty the Rooster a while back!
Love ya! XXXXOOOO
Oh. My. Goodness! That is just the most adorable thing evah….well, that and baby chicks, and baby goats, and puppies, and kittens! I don’t think I’ve ever met a baby animal I didn’t love. Turklet is just so precious and Jake looks like a very proud Poppa. I’m with Marcee…if Bernie turns his head for too long, your place will be overrun with turkeys!
