Still Snow

We are finally getting temperatures above freezing….. but it’s going to take this mess quite some time to melt off. Today Bernie dug a path for me to go to my greenhouse.

Penny it looks like you need to have a long talk with God about this weather, because it looks like mother nature is against you at the moment.lol.

  3. Stinkie says:

Look at my Uncle B out there slaving for the chickens!!

Jocely – I told Duke your comment and he puffed his chest out and flapped his wings ;)

Cristy – I know, right???? It’s clucking rediculous.

Stinkie – Your Uncle B read your comment and snorted. Mainly because the path was for ME to get to the greenhouse – but it ended up being the hot spot for the chickens to hang out all day long! They LOVE being able to scratch on the ground rather than the snow and ice! XXXOOO

All this snow IS ‘un-clucking believable!’ Sheesh… wanted to let you know that I added my post about the goats and included a pic of a corner feeder. I’ve got some additional pix to email to you if you are interested? You may send an email to me at ohiofarmg <<<>>gmail.com (obviously with the ‘at’ sign).

    See the pic at:

    Its in the ‘p.s.”

Have a great day and hope your snow melts soon!

I love that Bernie does stuff like that for you. :) He’s a keeper.

Oh, that looks so cold! It looks like winter from the ‘olden days’. I know you’re anxious to get ready for those cute baby kids. Do you have anything in your greenhouse right now? Just had a bad thought(!!!??) that’s all going to turn into MUD! I feel for you. Take care.

  8. I’d love to have my own chickens..
    I miss fresh eggs.
    What a lucky lady!

I have such INCREDIBLE greenhouse envy. That is one gorgeous structure!! Bernie is such a sweetie pie for digging you a trail!
I can’t believe it’s 66 degrees inside that baby! I’d like to take a lawn chair and a book and just sit inside for a while! :-)

Ohiofarmgirl – I got the pictures! Thank you!!! Very helpful. And our snow is starting to melt now – woo hoo! Still 2 feet of snow AND mud on every single path AND in the chicken run. Bonus! Spring can not get here soon enough…..

CeeCee – Isn’t B wonderful? I do know I am very lucky. Thank you for your sweet comment.

Cotton Lady – Ha! Yes, you are right. We’ve got a sloshy soupy mess right now. But at least it’s melting! And yes – the greenhouse has several plants in it and they are doing great! I put some bulbs in pots and left them in the greenhouse last fall and they are already popping up. I’m really pleased.

Shawna – I’m tickled you stopped by and commented! I really enjoyed your interview on the Back Yard Chickens radio show today. Your website rocks! If you lived closer I would keep you in fresh eggs!

Farmgirl_dk – This is my first winter with the greenhouse and I’m so very happy with it. I have a digital thermometer in there and it records the daily highs, lows, and humidity in there. Yesterday evening, when I went in to plant the rhubarb you sent me, it was 66 degrees in there and I had to take my coat off. The high for the day had been 99! And the low overnight had been 17 – but the water jugs I have in there were not frozen at all. I have tiny plants popping up and our temps have just gotten above freezing outside. I’m really happy with it – and I love the idea of putting a lawn chair in there!

That Bernie! Always doing such nice stuff for you.

But yeah, Okay? Id have a chair, some sweet tea, a book, heck, maybe Id even bring in some m and m’s in that green house. My husband would get home from work and there Id be….in that green house….all warm and cozy…..

Awe Dukey is looking so great – Enjoying the fresh air. My chickens are finally starting to enjoy going out now that it is warming up a little. I envy you with your green house too. I have one but it’s not put up… still working on that one. Maybe next year. I am looking forward to see your baby goats again… I bet you are getting excited about getting them home.
    Keep warm.

Duke is looking mighty handsome, but where is his shovel?? The lap of luxury us mere mortals can only dream of. Time for him to do his Native Dorking Sunshine Dance, and chase that winter away!

  14. Paul says:

I am pretty sure Duke is trying to show his scratching ability. I think Bernie has him nervous about the pecking order!
