LizBeth - Did you make them? How did they turn out?

Trish - I'm glad the noodles were a fun project for the family. I love chicken pot pie, although I'm not sure I've ever had the Amish version. How did it turn out? I checked out your blog - what a wonderful thing you and your family are doing in the Honduras! I'm certain this is something you'll children will remember forever.

Oh, thanks for the suggestion! I've been meaning to try making egg noodles for a while, as we love them and can't buy them here in Honduras. Your instructions and pictures were the impetus I needed, and my 12 yr old daughter and 7 yr old son made them up yesterday (we tripled the recipe for our large family), and today we're planning to have Amish chicken pot pie (which, if you aren't familiar with Amish cooking, is an egg noodle dish, not a 'pie').

I may post about the noodles on my blog later today . . . www.sowers4pastors.blogspot.com.

Now I know what I'm going to fix for supper tonight. It has turned off cold again, and noodles will be perfect. Thanks!

Hi Cotton Lady - Glad you're getting the needed moisture and we could use what we're getting too. But I'm with you - it would be nice if it would just be rain and skip all the ice and snow!

Yes, it is just that easy to make home made noodles. And they really don't take long to dry. The thinner you roll out the dough, the more quickly they will dry. Maybe even within two hours. So get to noodlin'! I'll be waiting to hear how yours turn out!

Wow! Didn't realize homemade noodles looked to easy to make! May have to try them myself. Your early morning scene looks a little familiar, only I have rain and ice. We'd been praying for moisture in West Texas, so am glad to see it even if it's ice. Sounds like a great day to make noodles!! Most of the time we only have around 20 percent humidity, so shouldn't take them long to dry here. Happy cleaning!!

Hey Jocelyn - I think you're going to love your home made noodles! It really is quite easy to make them and doesn't take much time - plus the taste is wonderful! Let me know how yours turn out.

Frugalmom - Your pup is precious! I just love that sweet little face - makes me want to kiss the fur right off of her. And I wondered if you were still getting your beauty rest. Ours do not tolerate much of that.

I just rolled out the noodles this morning, so I haven't used them yet. Bernie is leaning toward goulash. We have a freezer full of deer meat, and he loves his deer meat goulash. So I guess it'll be goulash.

Can I just say that actually making anything at 530 in the morning deserves lots of stars???? It has been a while since I have seen 5 am....but now that the pup is here lets just say that I see it a heck of a lot more often now. I mean it seemed only natural that the pup joined the family now, right? Since I just got thru potty training the little guy....I may as well just keep the ball rolling.....

Love homemade egg noodles. The jellyroll idea is pretty nifty....I just roll mine out and then use a pizza cutter and slice away. What did you end up making wit them?

How very cool! I usually just slice open a $2 bag of these things. Thank you for the lesson. Looks easy and would save me about $1.50. AWESOME!

And I only have to work 1/2 a day today I might do this when I get home.
