Today, Duke is modeling a faux denim leg wrap, accented with a small band of waterproof adhesive tape.
Nothing screams “Masculinity” louder than a faux denim leg wrap baby!

He totally pulls that look off.
How does it foot look under his stylin’ footwear?
CeeCee – I think it’s looking better. The swelling is localized right at the bumble now. I’m hoping that’s normal. I didn’t go back into it today – I haven’t found anything the last two times, so I figured I’d just give us both a break and only change the dressing and wrap. I’m keeping the antibiotic cream slathered on it pretty good. I may open it again tonight just to keep it draining.
Poor guy
Oh Duke, you have more change of footwear then the average woman LOL

Amy – I know. I feel so bad for him. He and I BOTH are looking forward to him getting over this.
Marmy – LOL! I think the other chickens look forward to seeing what new footwear he’ll be sporting each day
Duke is a handsome fella – and so stylish. Hope his foot is improving.
Thanks, Sweet Virginia Breeze. I don’t know what to think of his foot. The swelling is definitely down, but it doesn’t seem to want to go away. I’m going to give him another couple of days and if it doesn’t show marked improvement, I think I’m going to start him on the Pen-G.
I hope his foot gets better; good looking rooster. I’ve wondered since I first read about your chickens, how did you pick which breeds you were going to get? Good luck with them.
Hi Wililowman – thanks for stopping by. I ordered my chicks from Murry McMurray and they had a minimum order of 25. I didn’t order them until May because we were just finishing up the coop, and when I placed the order they were out of almost all the breeds I wanted. I ordered based on what they had available, what I thought looked pretty, and breeds that were noy supposed to go broody. That didn’t work out so well as I’ve had MANY broodies this year! Based on what I’ve learned since, I may have ordered a little differently – but I really enjoy the breeds I ended up with. I am especially fond of the Phoenix and White Faced Black Spanish. They have very nice temperaments and are good layers. But don’t let anyone tell you that Phoenix don’t go broody!
I sure do think the Duke is a gorgeous roo. Man on man I would love one of his babies (roo) just to have one like him. what did you say he was again? I may have to get one of them because he is absolutely gorgeous.
Lisa
Lisa – Duke is a Silver Gray Dorking. And if you feel like taking a trip and coming up for a visit, you can have your choice of any of the cockerels we’ve hatched out this year. Well, other than Pico – he gets to stay
But I am serious. I do not have any full blooded SGDs other than Duke, but I have several of his offspring that are mixed with others. Jethro is the spitting image of Duke – he’s crossed with a Silver Leghorn. And I have one or two from a younger hatch that look exactly like him too. If you are interested, just let me know before the end of the month. They go in the freezer after that.
